🍄 Mario Bros. Holds Top Spot
& John Wick Keeps Moving
Renfield and The Pope’s Exorcist debuted this past weekend to lackluster numbers. We weren’t anticipating either of them to jump to the top spot, but we would have guessed that the combined domestic totals of the two would be more than $17 million. John Wick: Chapter 4 even managed to hold off Renfield from the third position in its fourth weekend at the box office, which is impressive. The fourth installment of the Keanu Reeves action shooter now claims over $350 million worldwide.
So, the Exorcist v. Dracula showdown didn't exactly happen. Russel Crowe’s The Pope’s Exorcist did outdo Renfield by $1 million domestically. It also has done $37 million worldwide, so it still will likely turn some profit, but neither of the movies had the breakout that they were hoping for. We’re guessing both of these titles will flame out in the next week or so and the conversation will continue to speculate around whether or not The Super Mario Bros. Movie will hit $1 Billion. We’re putting our money on yes.
